Welcome to my first entry in this section. I will do my best to update this section at least every week.
As for the fourth and fifth of July, we had great weather, just a little rain after we came in. The crazy 3.5kt currents of earlier this week have subsided to an easy 1kt drift. Vis has been between 30-60ft with no real remnants of the thermocline from last week. Spearfishing has been steady, no monsters, but everyone has gone home with dinner. What more can you ask for. Lots of smaller hogs and a few real nice ones, along with good sized yellow jacks have been showing up. One customer spooked a 20lb grouper and another saw a pair of Wahoos, either of those would have been trophies if they were ready for them.
I have a fishing charter tonight and an all-star trip on Sun morning, so my hopes are high that we'll put some pounds in the boat. See ya soon, and don't forget to book early for miniseason and 1st few days of regular lobster season.

Today, we visited the southern wrecks with an all star group of spearfishermen. The longer voyage paid off with numerous hogs, several nice yellow jacks, and a huge 35lb black grouper speared by longtime customer Eric. I am going to try to make a habbit of visiting the further wrecks a few times a month from now on, they certainly seemed worth it.

Mini Season! Being booked solid from 12 midnight til midday, I made sure there was plenty of caffeine and snacks. The midnight trip did ok, with lots of moving around trying to find the lobsters. Sometimes in the middle of the night, they are just crawling everywhere, sometimes they are nowhere. Our divers managed to find seven, and had a great time and attitude, a real fun group. My single tank 5:30 trip caught a dozen, and my 7:30 trip averaged almost seven per person, so things got better as the day went on. I got a little sleep and am ready to track them down tomorrow.
DON"T FORGET- regular season starts next week on the 6th, so make your reservations soon!
